Richard Gray is Professor of Mental Health and Honorary Consultant at the University of the West of England.
Richard trained at King’s College as a Mental Health Nurse and at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in Public Health. He was awarded a PhD in 2001 from King’s College London and in the same year was awarded a prestigious MRC research training fellowship.
Richard leads a multidisciplinary research group with programmes of work in treatment adherence, physical health problems, co-morbid depression in long term conditions, physical health problems in severe mental illness, nurse prescribing, pain management, protected engagement time, giving cancer diagnosis, violence and aggression and mental health in older adults.

Jacquie White is Senior Lecturer/University Teaching Fellow, Faculty of Health and Social Care, University of Hull
Jacquie, an RMN since 1986, studied the role of the mental health nurse in medication management on the acute unit for her first degree in the 90s. Developing good practice in medication management remains the focus of her teaching, research and publications. Jacquie leads medication management in the mental health curriculum at Hull and contributes to the medication management education of students from across the Faculty and mental health and learning disability professionals from the wider UK. Her current research focuses on how best to support nurses to profile and act on the physical health needs of people with serious mental illness, a stepped approach to medication management education and good practice in the administration of intramuscular injections.
Dan Bressington is Senior Lecturer in Mental Health, Canterbury Christ Church University.
Dan has been using and teaching Adherence Therapy for over ten years and has published numerous book chapters and research papers that relate to satisfaction and adherence with treatment. Dan has taught Adherence Therapy in a variety of international settings and his current PhD explores the environmental context of adherence and satisfaction with treatment.
